Hello and welcome to this blog post! My name is Eva, and I’m so grateful you’re here. Recently, I recorded a meditation that will be uploaded this Wednesday, and I felt inspired to share some of the insights that came through during that session. The experience was so profound that I decided to dive deeper into the topic in this post, especially since it’s something many of you have asked about.
The core message revolves around the idea that while we are on a path of spiritual awakening, we are also having a human experience. These two aspects of our existence are not separate; they coexist and intertwine throughout our lives. Let’s explore this further.
The Dual Nature of Our Existence
We are here on this planet, living a human experience, while simultaneously walking a path of spiritual growth. If you’re reading this, it’s likely that you’re already on this journey. Otherwise, you probably wouldn’t be drawn to topics like meditation or spiritual awakening.
What’s important to understand is that no matter how far along we are in our spiritual journey, we are still human. We have a body, a personality, and a human life to navigate. This human aspect doesn’t disappear just because we’re awakening spiritually. In fact, it’s essential to nurture and honor this part of ourselves, even as we deepen our spiritual practices.
The Ebb and Flow of Spiritual and Human Life
On the path of awakening, there are times when we feel drawn to solitude, meditation, and retreats—whether online or in person. We may seek out like-minded individuals because we feel misunderstood by those who aren’t on the same journey. This is completely natural and necessary. These phases allow us to recharge, reflect, and connect with our higher selves.
However, there are also times when we feel called to engage more deeply with our human lives. This might mean spending time with family and friends, focusing on our careers, or simply enjoying the mundane aspects of life. These phases are equally important. They remind us that spiritual growth doesn’t mean abandoning our human experience. Instead, it’s about finding balance and integration between the two.
Why the Human Experience Matters
It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the spiritual journey is more important than the human one. But the truth is, both are vital. The human experience is where we integrate our spiritual insights. It’s where we practice compassion, love, and presence in real-world situations. Without this integration, our spiritual growth remains incomplete.
Life itself acts as a feedback mechanism. When we interact with others—whether at work, with family, or in social settings—we gain valuable insights into where we are on our journey. These interactions help us see what still needs healing or attention. They also remind us to enjoy life, to find joy in the simple things, and to appreciate the beauty of being human.
Compassion and the Human Experience
A question I often hear is, “Can I be compassionate with others while on a spiritual path?” The answer is a resounding yes. As we become more aware, we may notice the ego playing out in others, and we might wonder if showing compassion feeds into that. But compassion is a natural expression of our humanity.
We’re all navigating this human experience, which isn’t always easy. Heavy emotions, energy patterns, and life challenges can be overwhelming, especially for those who aren’t yet aware of their spiritual nature. If you feel called to be compassionate in a given moment, do so. If not, that’s okay too. There’s no right or wrong way to approach this—it’s about following your intuition and being true to yourself.
Embracing the Full Spectrum of Life
Spiritual awakening doesn’t mean we stop being human. We can still feel anger, frustration, or other “negative” emotions. The difference is that we become more aware of these emotions and less identified with them. We learn to live more in the present moment, observing our experiences without judgment.
The key is to allow life to move you. Some days, you might feel drawn to meditation and solitude. Other days, you might want to connect with loved ones or dive into worldly activities. Both are valid and necessary. This back-and-forth movement is part of the journey, and it’s different for everyone.
Final Thoughts
The human experience is a gift, and it’s meant to be enjoyed. Whether you’re walking on the beach, spending time with loved ones, or simply savoring a quiet moment, these experiences are just as important as your spiritual practices. They ground you, teach you, and help you integrate your growth.
So, as you continue on your path of spiritual awakening, remember to honor both aspects of your existence—the spiritual and the human. Nurture your soul, but don’t forget to nurture your human self as well. Life is a beautiful dance, and every step matters.
If you have any questions or thoughts, feel free to share them in the comments below. Until next time, enjoy your day and embrace the fullness of your journey.
With love,
Eva
